My Summer of Magic Moments by Caroline Roberts

Image
Dear Reader, From the excitement on twitter and reading the book description and let alone the book was by Caroline Roberts, I could not wait to delve in to My Summer of Magic Moments . First I must mention that I absolutely loved the concept of this story and it was so well interwoven in the story involving Claire. The chapters begin with some 'magic moments' from readers of Caroline Roberts and some friends which were lovely and inspiring and related to storyline in chapters. Claire has been through a tough time of late and is beginning to get back on her feet again after Cancer and chemo and she is now ready to begin a new chapter in her own life and what better way than to escape to a little cottage in the coastal village of Bamburgh. When she arrives to the cottage, she has rented for three weeks, it certainly does not live up to expectations. It is falling apart and the cottage has hardly any of the basics to make it habitable. Early the next morning she spo

Unfortunately Noelle discovers that the bakery is facing closure and she is determined that she can prevent this by raising funds and revamping the bakery. A Little Bit of Christmas Magic by Kirsty Ferry

Image
Dear Reader, What a gorgeous magical story that Kirsty Ferry brings us, I managed to read this in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. This is book four in the Rosetti Mysteries series. We meet Ailsa McCormack who is the wedding co-ordinator at the Carrick Park Hotel which as we find out has a fascinating history. A couple have booked the hotel to get married on Christmas day and on Christmas Eve while stopping by the drawing room where the reception will be taking place, Ailsa meets Ed Cavendish. He is very familiar and she presumes that he is one of the guests staying at the hotel but is he? Through Ed and also by a book written by journalist Becky Nelson we learn about the mystery surrounding Adam and Ella Carrick and their sudden disappearance back in 1865, this was my favourite part of the story. This is a delightful read Enjoy! https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2169877892 Ailish

Covent Garden in the Snow by Jules Wake

Image
First, I would like to thank both Netgalley and Harper Impulse for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review . I was delighted to read the latest from Jules Wake as I really enjoyed ‘From Paris with Love’ and even better Covent Garden in the Snow is based around Christmas and is now my new favourite! Here we meet Tilly Hunter who works at the London Metropolitan Opera Company in the make-up department. Tilly loves working here and is really passionate about her work. The only thing she hates is using the computer which she tends to avoid and a prime example is when she sends a personal email which ends up being sent to the entire company and to make matters worse she opens an attachment and downloads a virus. Conveniently the LMOC have just hired Marcus, the new IT Director and poor Tilly is forced against her will to take lessons to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.     So once the lessons begin both Tilly and Marcus do not get

Christmas at Hope Cottage by Lily Graham

Dear Reader, First I would like to thank both Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me the chance to read this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review. Emma Halloway by no stretch of the imagination has had a tough time of late. Her long-term boyfriend, Pete, ends their relationship which is bad enough  (even though he wears a lot of beige!) but he does so by - wait for it - a post-it but at least he adds that she is out of washing powder too! Following this Emma is involved in a very bad accident when she is hit by a delivery van who was dropping off a package to her. Due to the extent of her injuries Emma has to leave behind her life in London. She returns to her childhood home in the village of Whistling in Yorkshire, to live with her grandmother, Evie who will look after her. Emma's family are one of three stalwarts of the community for generations. Emma escaped to London for reasons we discover over the course of the book. She doesn't want to return t

Lucy's Book Club For The Lost And Found by Emma Davies

Image
Dear Reader, First I would like to thank both Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to review this gorgeous book for an honest review. Just finished the latest from Emma Davies, Lucy's Book Club for the Lost and Found which I couldn't put down. Such a lovely cast of characters which truly come alive on the page. I felt that I was right there with them. So I am just home! So let's meet them, first we have of course, Lucy who is the library's temporary manager. She is doing a great job of running the local library. She is in her early twenties and is a very caring person who will go to great lengths to help everyone and we see this especially with the members of her little book group but what about Lucy herself  and her dreams? Will she stop to think about herself first before everyone else? Next we have Callum, he finds solace in the library away from his family who are nothing like him. He is shy and very unsure of himself. His family have
